What Happened at OCP Global Summit 2022. UfiSpace, Drivenets, and Credo Expand Vision of Distributed Disaggregated Chassis with Extended Application Range

New Taipei, Taiwan, October, 21, 2022 -- UfiSpace, the leading enabler of open and disaggregated transport networking solutions, announced today several new implementations of distributed disaggregated chassis (DDC) supported by newly released white-box routing solutions that were showcased during Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit 2022.

The presented DDC platforms were designed in collaboration with DriveNets, a leader in cloud-native networking software and network disaggregation solutions, and Credo, a global innovation leader in high-performance serial connectivity solutions for the hyperscale datacenters. The distributed disaggregated chassis (DDC) was a design contributed by AT&T to OCP and was first commercialized by UfiSpace, DriveNets, along with other vendors.

Communication service providers (CSP) across regions are looking to cloud architectures to simplify network operations, develop sustainable scalability practices, while improving profitability. DDC introduces cloud-native architecture, through disaggregation of traditional routing chassis into interoperable, multi-vendor building blocks that operators can mix and match. The approach allows CSPs to build better optimized routing platforms at the start, delivers massive scalability and vibrant upgrade options, and keeps Capex and Opex at minimal levels.

The showcase incorporated three DDC clusters: a medium scale 96Tb cluster based on UfiSpace S9700-53DX (NCP-1) 100G line cards and UfiSpace S9705-48D (NCF-1) 400G fabric switches powered by Broadcom Jericho2 and Ramon respectively. The medium scale cluster that was the first commercially deployed DDC platform within a tier-1 North American telecom operator.

Large scale 350Tb cluster based on UfiSpace S9710-76D (NCP-3) 400G line cards and UfiSpace S9705-48D (NCF-1) 400G fabric switches powered by Broadcom Jericho2c+ and Ramon respectively. The large-scale cluster is an effective solution for service providers looking to expand their network capacity and add support for 400G interfaces, while not being restricted from the usage of lower capacity line cards.

The upcoming vision for the development of DDC, 700Tb cluster that was based on the latest 800G solutions from UfiSpace, DriveNets, and Credo. The 700Tb solution is currently targeting hyperscale data centers, while its components can also be integrated with previous generations of DDC clusters.

Among the latest platforms for DDC, UfiSpace has showcased its newly released S9701-82DC 25/100G open router. The S9701-82DC, based on Broadcom Jericho2c, extends DDC application range deeper into aggregation and access networks, offering service providers with low latency multi-service routing platform with unprecedented scalability, and cloud-native operations.

"It is truly inspiring to experience the synergy within the open networking ecosystem, and collaborate with service providers as they realize their open networking vision within their networks," says Vincent Ho, CEO of UfiSpace. "This year OCP Global Summit was full of mature open networking solutions, many of which have received live deployments. We are proud to lead the development of DDC with DriveNets and Credo, and will continue to please the public with the most innovating routing platforms."

About Credo
Credo is a leading provider of high-performance serial connectivity solutions for the hyperscale datacenter, 5G carrier, enterprise networking, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing markets. Credo's solutions deliver the bandwidth, scalability, and end-to-end signal integrity for next-generation platforms requiring 25G, 50G, and 100G signal lane-rate connectivity for 100G, 200G, 400G, and 800G port enabled networks. Credo's HiWire™ Active Electrical Cables deliver plug-and-play 400G connectivity today that is more affordable than optical solutions and more reliable than copper.

About DriveNets
DriveNets helps Communications Service Providers (CSPs) take advantage of the greatest demand surge in Telco history, substantially growing their profitability by changing their technological and economic models. DriveNets' solution, Network Cloud, changes the traditional networking architecture that has been in place for the past twenty years by adapting the architectural model of hyperscalers to Telco-grade networking. Network Cloud is a cloud-native software that runs over standard white-boxes, radically simplifying the network's operational model, offering Telco-scale performance at a much lower cost.
